Due to their wide-ranging repertoire, the accordion duo SJÖBLOM-KANDIĆ stands out as a unique within this particular instrumentation. The duo is dedicated to performing with equal passion whether playing contemporary works for two accordions, including electroacoustic compositions, or Baroque and classical music. Occasionally, Sjöblom and Kandić work with the physical space of a concert hall to explore the spatial acoustics of the room. They also expand the sound palette of their already extremely agile instruments with tape parts or direct the listener's focus to a single accordion.
The accordionists Terhi Sjöblom and Marija Kandić have been playing together since 2010. They hold degrees from music academies in Helsinki, Weimar and Würzburg and have studied with professors Stefan Hussong, Ivan Koval and Matti Rantanen. The duo won first prize in the 47th International Accordion Competition in Klingenthal (Germany) in 2010 and, in the same year, embarked on a concert tour presenting works of contemporary Finnish composers in Germany, Serbia and Romania. In 2012, at the Țintea Music Festival in Romania, the duo worked closely with 7 composers, premiering new works by each of them, in addition to holding a workshop. Duo Sjöblom-Kandić recorded "Doppio Duo" by Stefano Bonilauri for the portrait-CD of the composer.

Akkordeonduo SJÖBLOM-KANDIĆ ist durch die große Bandbreite seines Repertoires einzigartig in dieser Instrumentalbesetzung. Das Duo widmet sich mit Leidenschaft der Aufführung von zeitgenössischen Werken für zwei Akkordeons, wie elektroakustischen Kompositionen, als auch barocker und klassischer Musik. Bisweilen arbeiten Sjöblom und Kandić mit der Räumlichkeit des Konzertsaales und loten so das Stereobild im Raum aus. Sie erweitern die Klangpalette ihres äußerst agilen Klangapparates mit Zuspielband oder richten den Fokus des Zuhörers auf ein einzelnes Akkordeon.
Seit 2010 spielen Terhi Sjöblom und Marija Kandić zusammen. Die Akkordeonistinnen sind Absolventinnen der Musikhochschulen in Helsinki, Weimar und Würzburg und studierten bei Prof. Stefan Hussong, Prof. Ivan Koval und Prof. Matti Rantanen. Im Jahre 2010 gewann das Duo den 1. Preis beim 47. Internationalen Akkordeonwettbewerb in Klingenthal (Deutschland) und im gleichen Jahr präsentierte es Werke zeitgenössischer finnischer Komponisten auf einer Konzerttour in Deutschland, Serbien und Rumänien. Beim Țintea Musikfestival 2012 in Rumänien spielten sie in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Komponisten 7 Uraufführungen und leiteten dort einen Workshop. Duo Sjöblom-Kandić zeichnete "Doppio Duo" von Stefano Bonilauri für die Portrait-CD des Komponisten auf.

Il Duo Sjöblom-Kandić è formato da due fisarmoniciste Terhi Sjöblom (Finlandia) e Marija Kandić (Germania/Serbia). La particolarità di questo ensemble è la vastità e originalità del suo repertorio. Il duo si dedica con passione a performance sia di opere contemporanee (composizioni elettroacustiche), che alla musica barocca e classica. Il duo Sjöblom e Kandić lavora nello spazio della sala da concerto esplorando la sua acustica, espandendo la tavola armonica dei suoi strumenti, già estremamente ricca, con parti registrate o orientando l’attenzione dell’ascoltatore ad una singola fisarmonica.
Le musiciste Terhi Sjöblom e Marija Kandić suonano insieme dal 2010. Sono diplomate presso le accademie musicali di Helsinki, Weimar e Würzburg e hanno studiato con i professori Stefan Hussong, Ivan Koval e Matti Rantanen. Il duo ha vinto il primo premio nel 47° Concorso Internazionale di Fisarmonica di Klingenthal (Germania) nel 2010 e, nello stesso anno, ha intrapreso un tour di concerti in Germania, Serbia e Romania che propone opere di compositori finlandesi contemporanei. Nel 2012, al Festival di musica Ţintea in Romania, il duo ha lavorato a stretto contatto con 7 compositori tenendo un laboratorio musicale e promuovendo le loro nuove opere. In Germania nel 2014 il duo Sjöblom-Kandić ha eseguito in occasione di un concerto sia le nuove opere per due fisarmoniche, che musiche di J.S. Bach e W. A. Mozart.
